Hewlett Packard Ink Cartridges
How To Save Ink When Printing
Buying a new HP printer with a lot of new capabilities is usually a lot of fun. You will be able to print some stunning photos from your camera or storage devices.
Print from the internet will look great. It is likely that you will get a printer which will give you the capability to print on both sides of the paper, thus saving on printer paper for you.
But, as with almost anything we buy new now adays, a new printer of any brand will have maintenance expense associated with it.
With printers the big expense is ink. Some people can go through ink cartridges faster than a tank of gas in the car.
I just recently bought a new HP photosmart printer, which I love, but before I turned around I was out of ink. So, I went out and bought the XL (extra large) version of the black ink cartridge. Well that was gone before I knew it.
So, I began to look at ways to save on printer ink. I changed the setting on my printer to "draft" for regular printing and really could not tell a difference in the quality of the printed documents and it did seem to allow the ink cartridge to last a little longer. It also prints the pages faster, which is a nice little side benefit.
I learned to utilize "print preview" more so I could review and correct errors before I actually printed a hard copy.
I got better at printing just a page or two of a document that had the key stuff that I really needed to study in hard copy format.
When printing from the internet I learned to look for the "printer friendly version" more and to also just select and highlight what I wanted to print before clicking the old print button.
I print more in black now and not just any old thing in color.
You can print in Eco-friendly fonts. These are more petite and therefore require less ink. If this interest you, check out SPRANQ.
I have not tried these yet but I have found that there are software programs that assist you in printing and saving ink. The software allows you to eliminate emptyspace and easily select what you do or don't want to print.
The biggest savings for me was to get online and find cheaper places to buy my ink cartridges. The best place for me has turned out to be
